We have many years of experience in a variety of therapeutic settings- community mental health, private practice, virtual “coaching”, group therapy, etc… and we hear the same things over and over again from our clients- therapy has been unhelpful and they are really grateful for the honest feedback we give them. We have also both worked long enough to know what we are and are not good at and have found that we are most effective when we are relatively unfiltered and focused on goals/measurables and resolution. There is, of course, a place for supportive, explorative and insight-oriented therapy but many of the clients we have seen over the years need some very concrete things to be different, and quickly, and perhaps do some of that more “therapeutic work” later.

Yes! We are both decades into our careers as Licensed Mental Health Clinicians as well as some specific certifications and millions of trainings. In our clinical work, we lean heavily on the practical usage of CBT and DBT, and a myriad of other things learned/developed over the years.

I think the most honest answer is that the client matters more than the content, in terms of what we are doing here at The Feedback Forum. That being said, we specialize in working through anxious and disordered thinking that is causing all kinds of problems in your life. Many of our clients have a history of abuse (family of origin or adult relationships) that has resulted in a lack of confidence, clarity and difficulty making decisions/changes. Jill and Jonathan cofacilitate groups (outside of the Feedback Forum) for narcissistic and emotionally abusive men and both have a history of working with trauma, addiction and personality disorders.

If you are open to direction, interested in homework/skills/measurables, and have a sense of humor, we should be golden!

Though we are not operating clinically at the Feedback Forum we are ethical in our practice and are clinically trained and so will refer out if we see a need for clinical services, such as psychiatric evaluations, addiction issues, or formal assessments.
